History
Rosedale Mennonite Missions first sent church planting missionaries to Costa Rica in 1961. Eleven years later workers moved into Nicaragua, and in 1980 RMM missionaries entered Ecuador. After several decades of evangelistic work in these three countries, RMM's role as a church planting agency has come to an end in Latin America. In each location there are healthy, autonomous conferences of churches that are now sending out their own church planters. RMM now desires to partner with these conferences through providing resources for leadership training and working together to send teams of Latin American missionaries to Asia and Europe. We also believe that ongoing interaction between the constituency of CMC and the Latin American churches will prove to be mutually beneficial. LABOR exists to facilitate this partnership between the CMC-affiliated churches of North and Latin America.

What could your group do?
LABOR provides opportunities for your team to serve the Latin American conferences through building projects, medical ministry, and evangelistic outreaches. North American groups will partner with their brothers and sisters in Latin America to share God's love in practical ways.

LABOR provides the organizational and logistical structure necessary for your group to enjoy meaningful and productive ministry experience in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, or Ecuador. LABOR provides orientation and training, organizes work projects and outreach opportunities, and arranges meals and accommodations for your group. The LABOR committee works closely with their counterparts in Ecuador, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica to ensure that your group is matched with a suitable project and to provide partnership with the local church.
The conferences in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Ecuador are growing and in many locations the small, rural congregations desire to construct buildings that can serve as the focal point for their ministries in the community. Work projects in these areas are combined with evangelistic outreaches such as kids' programs, showing the Jesus film, etc. The week that your group spends working with the local church will enhance their ability to reach their friends and neighbors–and will bless your group as well.
