As you can see from these statistics, the world's population has increased dramatically over the past century.  During that same time period the number of Christians has increased significantly, but not enough to keep pace with the overall population growth.  This trend is expected to change, however.  Since 2000 the number of Christians has grown at a slightly higher rate than has the world population.  It is also encouraging to note the remarkable spread of the gospel.  The percent of the world's population without a Christian witness has decreased significantly since 1900.
