Soccer Outreach in Ecuador
RMM missionaries Dan and Lynelle Delagrange recently workedDuran soccer camp with the Comunidad de Fe congregation in Duran, Ecuador, to host a soccer camp for local youth. The church created the soccer field on their property using funds that were raised by children at CMC’s annual conference in 2004. Following the camp Dan sent the following report.

“The week of Soccer and Bible class for 36 boys from unchurched families went well in spite of lots of rain. They were taught the life of Joseph and compared his life with the life of Jesus. They also learned important sportsmanship attitudes and soccer skills. Each one was given a Bible and a soccer ball. Three youth girls from Floradale (Ontario) Mennonite Church were the underwriters of this event and were here for the week to help out with the training.
“Most of the 36 boys are now in various neighborhood Bible clubs and several have begun to attend Sunday School. We continue to follow-up with visits to their homes and pray for the families to experience new life in Jesus.”

RMM’s Prayer Requests for 2006 – Part 3
Following is the third of four Mosaic features presenting RMM’s prayer requests for 2006. A complete list of the requests can be found on our website.

RMM is laying some new foundations in 2006. Lord willing, we will send one couple and three single interns to Thailand, one couple to Morocco and several couples to Spain. On the home front, Joe Showalter is giving leadership to a multicultural church plant/missionary training center in Columbus. Pray that we would be deliberate and intentional about laying a solid foundation of prayer and preparation in all of these efforts.

New Missionaries Prepare for Service
Missionary Support Teams and “simple church” were the topics of2006 Training discussion at an orientation for fourteen potential RMM missionaries and interns who gathered at the SEND Training Center in Columbus, Ohio, from March 24-26. Those who participated have been appointed or are applying to work in Russia, Spain, Morocco, and Thailand. A follow-up training is scheduled for July. RMM’s human resource director, Mim Musser, commented that this unusually large group of applicants can be seen as an answer to RMM’s increased prayer for new workers.
