the first of them all!!
greetings one and all! this here is kirk, giving this send blog deal a swift kick in the pants to get it started. as i was looking over our new send blog (with absolutely no updates on it), i saw a comment left by drew maust. with the conviction of his comment on my mind, i decided that it was due time to get this show on the road. so here it is! the first of the whole lot! we hope to keep this blog updated a couple times a week with news in all sorts of shapes and forms. stories, pictures, testimonies, and (my personal favorite) God-sightings. enjoy!!
i am sitting right now in the famous cup o' joe in german village, a place that provides many fond memories for myself. i look back on my experiences i've had through the reach program as a time where God changed my life. not because i did anything special, nor because i'm an intelligent individual. He changed me simply because He is God and He's in the business of changing people. over the next few months we will have youth groups from all over the place come through here for what we call 'city challenge'. in the past, we have seen how God has used this time to change lives and we fully expect Him to do it again, not because we're anything special, nor because we're intelligent people here at the house, but simply because God is God and He must get a kick out of changing lives...He sure loves doing it. now is a time brimming with anticipation. what will God do? how will He do it? we don't know! we only hope not to get in the way of the Almighty. i write all this to ask to you keep this summer and us as house staff in your prayers. during a recent prayer conference at rbc, we were reminded how God's will is released through prayer, not because we control Him, but because that's just how He works. with that in mind, lift up the groups coming through here, that they may have an encounter with Jesus Christ. lift up the staff here, that we may have the wisdom, vision, and patience to endure. and most of all, pray that God's will would be done and His kingdom come.
blessings to all of you reading this. leave your comments and let us know how the stories of your lives are shaping.
kirk, for the team...
Soli Deo Gloria
