Well hello there! It's such an honr that you have chosen to devote this little segment of your valuable time to reading this blog post. Your thoughtfulness has not been overlooked.
To say that life here at the RIC has been dull would be a gross misrepresentation of reality. It's actually kind of difficult to decide what to talk about, that you the audience might find interesting, but I'll guess I'll just start somewhere.
One of our goals as interns is to visit each of our families in their respective states. We have already visited Stacey's family (they live in Holmes county Ohio) during the superbowl. Then this past weekend we went up Kalen's house in Garrett county Maryland. The scenery there was very beautiful! There were so many trees, and it was just so good to be out in nature again after having been in the city for a while. One of my favorite parts was the fact that you could see the stars at night! Very delightful. These little excursions have also made me realize just how great families are. At both houses goodness has just been lavished upon us, in all forms (but predominantly food) and it's just pretty spectacular. Clearly, our families love us very dearly and it just makes me very thankful that I was born into such a great one.
This past Monday night we invited the Rosedale Bible College students over for a turkish dinner. It was very enjoyable. Before the students ate there was a vey epic rock, paper, scissor tournament. It included much yelling and cheering because you were required to cheer for and follow whoever you lost to. Even as a mere bystander, you couldn't help but be drawn in by all the action. Then we served them some food, and for dessert we had the infamous baklava which was de-licious! After they ate we gave them a tour of the building and then played some games. Then, due to impending homework due dates, they had to leave, but not without first playing a quick game of duck, duck, goose. :) Oh the joys of simple childhood games.
So, this is not a complete list of the various activities we've been doing but it will at least give you a little bit of an idea what we've been up to. Thanks again for your time, and if you feel so compelled, you are free to leave your thoughts in the form of comments located somewhere on this page.
