City Challenge! And other news...

So we are half way through city challenge and it has been so good thus far! It's been amazing to see how God is working in the lives of these kids! Every Wednesday morning before the group comes we have a prayer time for them, asking God what he wants to say to that group specifically. God has used those times to speak to us and reveal truth to us that He wants to share with them. During the week they have sessions in the morning, and they go on a prayer challenge through the city, and do homeless outreaches, and of course play games as well. You can tell that some of these things are for sure out of the comfort zone for many, but they learn so much through each of these experiences. My favorite part though, is at the end of the week (not because they're going home) but because you can tell that they are leaving a changed group of kids, and you know that God did his thing. Delightful.

This past week we went on a staff retreat, and it was nice and refreshing! We were camping on a farm out in the middle of nowhere, with no traffic noise and we could see the stars at night! There was a fire giong pretty much all the time that we cooked all the meals over, and sat around at night to have our devotions. Stacey's parents cooked several meals for us and spoiled us rotten. We had some delicious ribs and potatoes one night, and stir fry another night. So good! There was also tons of fun to be had at this farm. There was corn hole, and ladder ball, and pretty much the sweetest waterslide ever. We rode on four-wheelers and got super muddy!! The boys chopped down a tree! We had guns around so we could do some target practice (on an actual target not each other mind you). We played card games, and painted pictures, and also got to visit the produce auction that Stacey used to work at. You might be surprised how fun watching them auction off produce and flowers could really be (I really enjoyed it at least). And what farm could be complete without cows, of whom Rachel and I made the acquaintence of one of them (I have an odd facination with cows). Turns out that cows have really rough tounges. Kind of scratchy on my hand.

All in all, it has been a good summer so far. We are getting ready to head into three weeks straight of city challenge so if you think of it, pray for us please. Thanks for reading!
