RMM Special Projects
Throughout the year, Rosedale Mennonite Missions presents special project requests that give you the opportunity to meet a specific, practical need at an RMM ministry location. They provide opportunities for individuals, families, Vacation Bible Schools, youth groups, Sunday school classes, etc. to bless the work of the Lord around the world. The following is a sample of some projects you can be a part of right now. If you are interested in supporting any of these projects, please call RMM at 740-857-1366 or email us at info@rmmoffice.org. You may also mail a contribution to:

LATIN AMERICA
Help send a Latin American Youth to Thailand
Participate in a "youth sending project" in Latin America. RMM is assisting with funding to send youth from Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Ecuador as missionary interns to Thailand. Already, two youths from Ecuador and one each from Costa Rica and Nicaragua are set to depart for Thailand by July 31. A goal is to send four more in 2008.
It costs approximately $2,000 to send one youth to Thailand and $400 per month for them to stay there. You can participate by supporting a youth in $500 "blocks."
All money given goes directly into the missions accounts of the Costa Rican Mennonite Conference, Nicaraguan Mennonite Conference, and the Ecuadorian Mennonite Conference.
ASIA
Immanuel Boys' Hostel:
Immanuel Boys' Hostel began in 1997 in response to a need to train potential church leaders for a developing ministry to Hindu people from the low-caste people. The hostel is for youth from Hindu families to live while they pursue high school and college studies and provides an atmosphere for them to excel in their studies although they come from very poor and disadvantaged backgrounds. The hostel also provides a Christian atmosphere for Hindu youth to learn about the Christian faith. Since its opening, many of the participants have come to faith, were baptized and are now leaders of emerging fellowships of believers. There are presently 15 youth there from several people group backgrounds."
The total budget for the hostel provided by RMM is is $300 per month.
MEDITERRANEAN
1) For Bibles: pocket NT=$4, hard cover $8, bound Bible: $20 Songbooks: $5, Discipleship materials: start at $4 per book. ($250)
2) Camp (family, youth, children) and Seminar (marriage, youth, etc.) - fees and travel expenses ($500)
Family camp is an annual event in the Middle East for the churches in each of the cities there to gather together. Mornings are usually filled with teaching and group bible study. There is an evening worship and preaching service. Over the last ten years this has grown from 40 people to 250-300. It is primarily a time of spiritual refreshment with outside speakers. It is very encouraging for these small house groups to gather with the larger body and see that they are part of a much bigger body. It builds cooperation between the various churches and denominations.
3) Mercy Fund: Firewood, medicine, electricity, etc. ($400)
This is a fund to be used to purchase coal/wood for a family in the fellowship that is unemployed, or help with an electric bill. It provides supplemental assistance to the local fellowship and the worker in helping people get the basic necessities when they are in need. Normally under a hundred dollars it’s given.
