News About Haiti Earthquake Relief

We’ve all been saddened by the tragedy of the earthquake in Haiti. This may bring a desire among attendees of CMC churches to contribute to earthquake relief and some of your people may wish to contribute to Anabaptist agencies.

Conservative Mennonite Conference has official ties with several agencies that work in Haiti and we recommend them to you.

1. Gospel Light Chapel is an international affiliate with CMC that has strong connections with Palm Grove Mennonite Church in Sarasota, Florida. Eris Labady is the overseer of this mission and David R. Miller is the contact person with Palm Grove Mennonite Church. Funds for earthquake relief may be sent to Palm Grove Mennonite Church for the purpose of repairing earthquake damage to schools, churches, and homes of the mission and surrounding areas, as well as purchasing food, water, and fuel.

Send funds designated for earthquake relief made out to Palm Grove Mennonite Church, % Ollie Kempf, 11075 Celetine Pass, Sarasota, Florida  34240

2. Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) is responding to the earthquake by providing immediate shelter, food and emergency supplies and trauma healing and other long-term recovery needs. You can help through prayer for the people of Haiti and by donating to MCC’s Haiti Earthquake appeal. Give online at donate.mcc.org/project/haiti-earthquake, by check to the MCC office nearest you, or by phone toll free:  1-888-563-4676 (U.S.).
